Notice is hereby given that Metcore LLC, 7103 Oakbrook Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 214.31 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300614 to coal surface mine with auger mining in the Pocahontas No. 3, Pocahontas No. 6, Pocahontas No. 7, Pocahontas No. 8, Pocahontas No. 9 and Firecreek seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of Sewell Creek of Meadow River of Gauley River and is located 1.0 miles, northeast of Springdale in New Haven District of Fayette County, Longitude 80° 47' 47" and Latitude 37° 53' 30" (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
